ART for The World Europa at Assab One, via Assab 1, 20132 Milan

In September, we moved our offices in the premises of Assab One, via Assab One, 20132 Milan, created and directed by Elena Quarestani, also Member of the board of ART for The World Europa.  We are grateful to Elena for having invited ART for The World Europa in this very special Milan art space, open since 2002 to art, cinema, performances, among other cultural activities.

The Mediterranean Approach at SESC Pinheiros, Sao Paulo, Brazil

After the Venice and Marseille venues during 2011-2012, The Mediterranean Approach is shown in Sao Paulo, Brazil at SESC Pinheiros from October 7, 2012 to January 15, 2013.

The 14-years-collaboration between and SESC Regional Direction - Sao Paulo and ART for The World is based to promote art linked to ethical and social concerns with a clearly educational perspective. The Mediterranean Approach seals, once more, this collaboration through the artworks of 14 artists and filmmakers coming from the different Mediterranean countries.

The participating artists and filmmkers are: Ghada Amer, Ziad Antar, Faouzi Bensaïdi, Jacques Berthet, Marie Bovo, David Casini, Hüseyin Karabey, Ange Leccia, Adrian Paci, Maria Papadimitriou, Khalil Rabah, Zineb Sedira, Gal Weinstein and Peter Wüthrich.
In Sao Paulo, some of the works will differ from the ones seen during the previous venues, such as: Ghada Amer’s 100 Words of Love, David Casini’s Il ritorno dell’illogica abitudine, Zineb Sedira’s Saphir and Gal Weinstein’s Lighthouse.

Artists Ghada Amer, David Casini, Adrian Paci, Maria Papadimitriou, Peter Wüthrich and filmmaker Hüseyin Karabey, will attend the opening in SESC Pinheiros, Rua Paes Leme 195, Sao Paulo on Saturday, October 6, from noon to 3 pm.

During the installation of the show, it will take place simultaneously Digi-Tales, a 2 days of a masterclass with Hüseyin Karabey. People of different generation and background will work with the filmmaker on creating short films using their own photographic material and memories. The inscriptions are open at SESC Pinheiros.

Continuing his collection of The Angels of the World, and after Venice, Peter Wüthrich will work with Sao Paulo’s inhabitants going around in the city and shooting  The Angels of Sao Paulo.

FOOD, Press Conference at Palazzo Isimbardi, Milan

A press conference presenting our newest travelling project, FOOD, Reflections on Mother Earth, Agriculture and Nutrition, will take place on October 16, 2012, during the International World Food Day, at Palazzo Isimbardi, via Vivaio 1 in Milan, in collaboration with the Cultural Department of the Provincia di Milano, the Department of Culture and Sport of the City of Geneva,  Slow Food and the University of Bicocca, under the patronage of Expo 2015, the Universal Exhibition of Milan, having the topic  Feeding the Planet. Energy for life.
FOOD will be shown in Geneva at Musée Ariana (December 18, 2012 – February 24, 2013), in Milan at Spazio Oberdan (September - November 2013), in Marseille at MuCEM, Musée des Civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée (September 2014 – January 2015), among other venues.

For the avant-première of FOOD, Reflections on Mother Earth, Agriculture and Nutrition in Geneva on December 18, participating artists are: Marina Abramovic, John Armleder, Kader Attia, Joseph Beuys, Marcel Broodthaers, Lenora de Barros, Mircea Cantor, Subodh Gupta, Jannis Kounellis, Los Carpinteros, Meret Oppenheim, Marcello Maloberti, Cildo Meireles, Miralda, Tony Morgan, Liliana Moro, Gianni Motti, Ernesto Neto, Angelo Plessas, Pipilotti Rist, Dieter Roth, Shimabuku, Vivianne van Singer, Raghubir Singh, Daniel Spoerri, Barthélémy Toguo, and Nari Ward.
